It looks like for Steelers super fan Wiz Khalifa, being arrested last year and charged with marijuana trafficking, a felony count of maintaining a dwelling for sale or storage of marijuana, and one misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was not a reason to neglect his work. It’s true, he has been released after posting a $300,000 bond but since, he has spent quite a few months away from the road to prepare the release of his major-label debut, Rolling Papers, and to enjoy the success of his last tour – the Waken Baken Tour.
Despite his reputation for loving all that is “green”, Wiz is considered to be a very talented and charismatic rapper. Everybody likes him and his music career has just started blooming. At the age of 23, Wiz received a nod for the 2011 mtvU Woodie of the Year award and his chances to reach the peak of fame will increase with the launch of his Rolling Papers on March 29.
But the “Black and Yellow” MC is not dropping his sword yet. He has big plans and one of them is to go back on tour. After concerting in Springfield on February 19 and 20 at the Mass Mutual Center, in Providence on February 21, in Morgantown on February 25 and 26 and in New York on March 30, Wiz will still be hitting the road. He will embark on a 17-city college tour named the “Green Carpet Tour,” which is possible thanks to the efforts of both non-profit Reverb and Pretty Polly Productions as part of its Campus Consciousness Tour series.
The show that also promotes eco-friendliness will start on April 1 at the Raleigh Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina and it will end at Penn State University on April 26.
