The 10th season of ‘American Idol‘ ended and the producers are facing again the judging drama for the upcoming season. While Jennifer Lopez is still considering her options and whether to return to Fox’s American Idol, the network has confirmed two of the judges for the show’s 11th season. Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson are the chosen ones and they have signed on for the next season of the famous American hit singing competition show.
On one hand, according to Hollywood Reporter, Jenny from the block, whose music career was relaunched thanks to the show, is still unsure whether to give it another go. Recently, she gave an interview to BBC’s Radio 1 saying that things are still up in the air: “You know, this is the question of the hour. I don’t know. I haven’t been forced to make a decision and I’m glad about that because, honestly, I’m very on the fence about it. I had an amazing time doing it and I loved it, but I have a lot of other things happening, and it’s going to come down to me making a choice of what I want to do for the next year and we’re not really at the breaking point of, ‘You have to make a decision right now!’ I’m just really enjoying the time of just waiting and seeing.”
On the other hand, the Reporter said that Randy Jackson has express clearly his desire to keep the new team together, and that Tyler’s return was not in question because the rock legend signed a two-year deal. But Jackson also said during an appearance on Lopez Tonight that all three judges would be back next season: “I believe we’ll all be back! It was a hot season. We started something. It was our tenth anniversary, so going into season 11, we’ve got a lot to prove and show again.” Despite his declaration, Lopez return remains uncertain.
But fans, who adored Lopez as a judge, are wondering why the star didn’t make up her mind yet. Rumors are that Marc Anthony’s wife will have to promote her hit album Love?, as well as a new perfume and the upcoming Latin American reality talent show “Q’Viva,” which she is co-hosting with her husband so her schedule will be too busy to include judging for the ‘Idol’. And of course, speculations are in bloom. E! Online has launched some rumors that the Latin singer earned a reported $12 million for season 10 of ‘Idol,’ and that now it’s possible she’s looking for an even bigger payday. Other magazines wrote that the producers are courting Shakira and Shania Twain as possible replacements for Lopez.
However, whether all these rumors are true or false, fans are expecting an answer.
