80’s band Squeeze is on a summer tour. US Dates have been announced through August. They seem to be playing in “intimate” theaters.
Here is the current lineup which includes Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford.

According to a story on Yahoo this tour is all about the money. There are no plans for a new album. I have a lot of fond memories of cranking “Pulling Mussels,” “Black Coffee in Bed”, and “Tempted” from the “Singles 45’s and Under” CD during the summers in the early 80’s. However I just don’t have the desire to tap my heels along with middle aged yuppies wearing designer eyewear at a Squeeze concert.

I attended the first US tour at Tupelos/Londonderry,Nh on Monday July,30,2007. This was my 4th time seeing them in 20 years. The hall I attended held only about 200 persons, so the band Lit in your face! Since the hall was non smoking and did not sell liquor, (but you can BYOB) –the hall is touted as a family friendly hall. Because of this , and I know squeeze would prob object, I brought my one and four year old sons to this outing.(They had hearing protection) although I have read they are only in it for the money, Glenn and Chris was def having a grand time (and this was apparent to the crowd), -If they are in it purely for the money,… I don’t buy it ! Anyway, this show was unreal, singing for 2 hours without breaks, doing all of their hits and some,…transported me to another time and place. –Anyway enough reflection, my wife and I wish them all the luck in the states and hope they return to Londonderry soon !
