All Hope Is Gone is the fourth studio album by metal band Slipknot, following 2004’s album ‘The Subliminal Verses‘.
It was released on August 20, 2008, by Roadrunner Records

This new record, produced by Dave Fortman sees them showing no signs of mellowing with age, except perhaps to introduce a dash of melody on the Megadeth-inspired single ‘Psychosocial‘.

This album is good and is even better if you are a knot fan.
The style has changed a bit which but they are still fast paced and crazy. Slipknot is one of the most credible, successful and enduring bands to survive the short-lived “nu-metal” boom of the early 00s, despite the comparative inaccessibility of their dark, anguished, brutal music.

The album was Slipknot’s first #1 debut on the Billboard 200, it peaked at #2 on UK Albums Chart.

Bonus DVD

The special edition of the album includes a DVD containing a 35-minute documentary directed by percussionist Shawn Crahan about the album’s conception and recording, titled Nine: The Making of All Hope Is Gone. The recording of parts of “Child of Burning Time”, “Dead Memories”, “Snuff”, “Vendetta”, “This Cold Black”, “Psychosocial”, and “Sulfur” appear in the documentary.
Instrumental effects and garbled music by Crahan are also featured on the DVD.
