Rihanna has been very busy lately and the Press has its eye on her life and work alike, especially now, when she is working hard on her next LP. And because the Press never sleeps, Rihanna continues to be in the headlines. Plus, her co-workers gave the Press a big juicy bone to chew: Justin Timberlake and the British duo Chase & Status revealed details about their collaboration with the 21-year-old Barbadian singer.

Timberlake, with whom Rihanna previously collaborated on “Rehab,” from Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad LP, said in an interview during E!’s red-carpet show that “The stuff we’ve come up with in the studio, it’s the next step for her. It’s a little more grown-up. It’s got some edge to it.”
Saul Milton and Will Kennard, members of Chase & Status, have spent “two sessions, three or four weeks in total” in the studio with Rihanna writing the follow-up to her 2007 album Good Girl Gone Bad. Ordinarily recognised as drum and bass DJs, the pair say they haven’t altered their sound. Saul Milton said: “A couple of bits really do sound like Chase & Status. They all do. But obviously some of them have got more of a song structure, but we still have our trademark big beats and big bass on there.”
It seems that Milton talked to the BBC about the fact that “On one track she came up with some cool melodies and cool ideas, the kind of vibe she wanted. This album for her is just about what she likes and what she’s into and what she wants. When she doesn’t like something she’ll let you know. When she likes something she’ll let you know as well.” Milton said that “If she’s not into the vibe she’ll be like, ‘Nope, I don’t think it’s for me.’ Or if something is a bit too bolshie [esoteric], she’s like, ‘That’s not what I’m trying to push right now.’
Chase & Status, who have remixed the likes of The Prodigy and Jay-Z in the past and have spent the summer working on tracks for Rihanna, say that the Umbrella singer “is just a really cool girl, down to earth”, “a real professional”. Furthermore, according to MTV, Milton said he got a call from the beautiful singer at 6 a.m. one day, “before we even met up, saying how she loves the tracks and that she can’t wait to work with us”.
“That was a big realization that it’s happening!” he added with enthusiasm.
