The Jonas Brothers have announced details of their new tour this Summer. Nearly two weeks after the premiere of Disney’s “Jonas Brothers: The 3-D Concert” film, the sibling music act has unveiled dates for a world tour. The Jonas Brothers World Tour supports the trio’s most recent studio album, “A Little Bit Longer,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in August. The Hollywood Records set has sold 1.49 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Moreover, the Jonas Brothers trek will feature support from “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks and rock act Honor Society.
The 44-date North American tour begins June 20 at the Dallas Cowboys New Stadium in Texas and wraps August 31 at the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa. Tickets in North America go on sale to Jonas Brothers fan club members in select cities beginning March 16 and the general public can begin purchasing tickets March 20 through livenation.com.
However, before the North American arena dates, the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009 will play a handful of dates in South America in mid-May and head to the United Kingdom and Europe in early June. “We want to see all of our fans in the US and also see all our new fans from around the world.” Joe Jonas says. “We wish we could go everywhere. We are doing our best to hit as many places as possible.”
“The new tour will include new songs from our new CD coming out this summer, as well as songs from our new TV show.” Brother Kevin Jonas also said of the tour: “We’re coming to your city this summer,” and Nick added: “New tour, new stage, everything’s new, and we’re so excited to have you check it out.”
The tour will feature a 140 foot plus stage in the center of the arenas, lasers, motion-automated video screens, cutting-edge technology used in a one-of-a-kind circular water screen and a giant crane above the audience.
