The Phil Spector trial has been declared a mistrial because the jury couldn’t reach a decision.
Surely if 4 out of 5 dentist can recommend Dentyne then this jury could have found this clown guilty.

I heard Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” on the radio today and I was reminded what a totally kick ass song it is. I wasn’t a huge fan of Nirvana at the time since they singlehandedly destroyed metal. From there the floodgates were open to the whole Seattle “grunge” scene. Thanks to Nirvana “alternative rock” thrived and some very cool bands emerged in the 90’s.

Rush will be touring this summer to promote their new album Snakes & Arrows. It seems to be selling well and is currently #9 at Amazon.

The buzz and various forums is that it is a good album that may take more than one listen to get used to. I think I heard there are two instrumentals on the album.

Back in the 80’s I always though Rush was a total snooze fest to see in concert. They just looked down at their feet as they played three instruments each. However their showmanship has greatly improved and Rush puts on one hell of a show now.

Eddie Van Halen recently completed rehab and he looks healthy and great. He no longer looks like the Crypt Keeper. It looks like he had some dental work done as well. Let’s hope this leads to some new material and even a tour. Compare the before and after pictures below.

I just caught the first two episodes of Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Looks like Shannon wasn’t pregnant but Gene will be trying to spread his man seed.

I can’t wait to see the plastic surgery bit in upcoming episodes. I’m not sure if Shannon Tweed has been under the knife before but she looks pretty damn good.

I also like the kids in the show, Nick Simmons and Sophie Simmons. They actually seem normal and are pretty funny.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Brad Delps death may be attributed in part too Boston Band Leader Tom Scholz.

According to Micki Delp, Brad was upset over the lingering bad feelings from the ugly breakup of the band Boston over 20 years ago. Delp continued to work with Scholz and Boston but also gigged with Barry Goudreau, Fran Sheehan and Sib Hashian, former members of the band who had a fierce falling out with Scholz in the early ’80s.

As a result, he was constantly caught in the middle of the warring factions. The situation was complicated by the fact that Delp’s ex-wife, Micki, is the sister of Goudreau’s wife, Connie.

Tom Scholz stated changes in the band were ok with Delp and was willing to work along.

I personally don’t think Tom Scholz or Boston should be blamed for his death. Brad Delp obviously had some issues he could not work through. All in all it’s just a tragedy.

Here is a list of known dates so far for the Police tour. The tour seems to be made up of larger outdoor type venues. This is going to be one of the highest grossing tours of the summer for sure.

Gina Glocksen sang Heart’s “Alone” and did a pretty decent job.

I do find something rather interesting on American Idol. Sometimes the contestants make you realize how good of a singer the original singer of the song is. How many contestants have killed Aerosmith songs ? Yet Steven Tyler makes it sound effortless.
