Cage the Elephant, a rock band from the American small town Bowling Green, Kentucky which is currently best known for manufacturing Chevrolet Corvettes and Fruit of the Loom underwear, officially announced their tour dates for UK this year.
The new jaunt is the first 2009 tour for the band on these shores, following their sold-out dates in November of last year. Running the full month of May, the tour commences in Coventry on the 5th and will finalise on the 22nd in London. will kick off the jaunt at the Coventry Kasbah on May 5 and wrap it up at the London KOKO on May 22.

The band released their eponymous debut album, Cage the Elephant, on 23 June 2008. The album obtained favorable reviews, which praised its delivery of powerful rock. Cage the Elephant increased their fanbase after appearing as a support act on tour with The Pigeon Detectives in early 2008.
The members of the band - Matt Shultz (vocals), Brad Shultz (guitar), Jared Champion (drums and percussion), Daniel Tichenor (bass, vocals), Lincoln Parish (lead guitar) -
form the latest American hard rock band with a reputation for incendiary live performances, for music that is aggressive and raw, and for behaviour that is “unpredictable” and “wild”. They’ve been attracting all the right indie radio people and won tour supports with everyone from Queens of the Stone Age to Foals.
The band released the last single from their debut two weeks ago in the shape of ‘Back Against The Wall’, and will retreat for some much needed recuperation following their whirlwind year after the shows below:
