As the last season’s finale boasted a record-breaking nearly 100 million votes cast in the crowning of David Cook as the winner, producers decided that American Idol, television’s no.1 show should return next year with a brand-new season, new contestants and a new judge. You will be able to see the newly shaped show Tuesday, January 13 and Wednesday, January 14 on FOX.

The top 36 semi-finalists will be revealed Wednesday, February 11, the voting will begin Tuesday, February 17. On Thursday, March 5, the judges’ Wild Card Round will reveal the top 12 singers and on Tuesday, March 10, they will perform for the first time.

According to www.americanidol.com, the new season will contain three weeks of audition episodes and tryouts held in East Rutherford, NJ, Jacksonville, FL, Kansas City, MO, Louisville, KY, Phoenix, AZ, Salt Lake City, UT, San Francisco, CA, San Juan, Puerto Rico. The auditions will keep up for two weeks on Tuesday, January 20 and Wednesday, January 21 and Tuesday January 27 and Wednesday, January 28. The final audition episode will be broadcasted Thursday, January 29 (8/7c) on FOX.

Moreover, “Hollywood Round” will be extended for one week and the public will see the lucky auditioners on air Tuesday, February 3, Wednesday, February 4 and Tuesday, February 10.
Then, 12 semifinalists will perform on February 17, February 24 and March 3. America has another chance to share its voice and vote for their favorite finalists. After March 10, America will have the chance to vote again for their favorites.
