It seems that health issues are not stranger to Adele, who once again disappointed her fans by canceling performances. The soul sensation has canceled her upcoming U.S. tour due to a hemorrhage in her vocal chord, as the singer and her label announced Tuesday. Vocal issues forced the Chasing Pavements hitmaker to postpone concert dates earlier this year in North America due to a sever laryngitis, as well and she even cancelled a couple of gigs in Britain last month as she tried to overcome a chest infection. Since then Adele has hit the stage to complete her remaining UK shows and American fans believed they would be luckier.
Unfortunately, the battle with the throat illness is far from being over and the Someone Like You star was forced to cancel her upcoming US tour of 10-date American trek, which was due to kick off today in New Jersey. Positioned to cover much of the South and Texas over ten dates, the tour was sold out so fans are a bit angry because they emptied their pockets to buy the tickets and now they won’t see their idol because doctors advised her to rest her voice for an “extended rest period.”
Here are the gigs that have been cancelled, according to Colombia Records:
Oct. 7: Atlantic City, NJ (Borgata Spa & Resort)
Oct. 8: Durham, NC (Durham Performing Arts Center)
Oct. 10: Nashville, TN (Ryman Auditorium)
Oct. 11: Asheville, NC (Thomas Wolfe Auditorium)
Oct. 13: Orlando, FL (Hard Rock Live)
Oct. 14: Miami, FL (Waterfront Theater at American Airlines Arena)
Oct. 16: Atlanta, GA (Fox Theatre)
Oct. 18: Spring, TX (Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavillion)
Oct. 19: Austin, TX (Frank Erwin Center)
Oct. 21: Grand Prairie, TX (Verizon Theatre at Grand Prairie)
However, since the love of fans is immeasurable, they understand the sadness of their idol and wish her health so they could see her soon on stage. Adele feels guilty and responsible for the postponement and she promised her fans that she would start “as soon as, and start building my over all stamina in my voice, body and mind.” “I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or I risk damaging my voice forever. I have great confidence in believing you know how much this upsets me, how seriously I take it and how truly devastated and annoyed I am by this. Wanting to do something so bad and not being able to is the most frustrating thing as I’m sure you know!” the singer wrote to her American fans. She appologised and asked them to have faith in her.
